Exterior Production Worker - 1st Shift
- Shift: 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
- Salary Range: $18.00 - $24.64 hourly
- FLSA Status: Nonexempt
- Position Type: Full-Time
Job Summary: The production worker is a part of the exterior team responsible for assembling high-quality pre-hung exterior doors. This role ensures that each door meets all standards for durability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal, fulfilling customer requirements and expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble exterior doors by following detailed work order specifications, utilizing appropriate tools, materials, and components.
- Operate and maintain the machinery used in the door manufacturing process.
- Thoroughly inspect materials and components at each assembly stage to ensure they meet quality standards, and communicate any quality issues to your supervisor.
- Manage and organize materials and components necessary for door production, and notify your supervisor when additional supplies are needed.
- Rotate through the various stages of the assembly line to ensure an efficient production flow.
- Package and scan finished doors, preparing them for shipment.
- Clean work areas, break room, and restrooms by sweeping, mopping, and tidying up.
- Follow all established safety rules and regulations to maintain a clean working environment.
Qualifications:
- At least two years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly line role, preferably in the construction of doors or similar products.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues that arise during assembly.
- Attention to detail for inspecting materials and finished doors.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders.
- Ability to manage time efficiently to meet production deadlines.
- Adaptability to handle different tasks and responsibilities as needed.
- Proficiency in using of hand and power tools such hammers, caulking guns, measuring tapes, staplers, nailers, drills, and chop saws, as well as machinery related to door manufacturing.
Physical Requirements:
- Extended periods of standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Frequently lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs., and occasionally team lift up to 100 lbs.
- Using hands and arms to operate machinery, handle tools, and perform assembly tasks.
- Exert force to push or pull pallet jacks weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Performing close vision, peripheral vision, and color vision tasks to inspect materials and components for quality.
