We are seeking a highly skilled Export Operations Analyst to join our Trade Management Group. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of tariff classification, ECCN designation, and customs operations. This role involves evaluating information flow for customs entry matters, product tariff classification, and product valuation. The candidate will also assist in planning, forecasting, and conflict resolution, as well as support Customs Specialists through training and daily work execution.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Collaborate with the Customs Specialists team to complete tariff classification requests for both Import (US HTS) and Exports (ECCN), ensuring accurate notation of classification reasons.
+ Lead product classification sessions and team operations meetings with internal and external partners, using work performed by the Tariff Engineer Manager.
+ Evaluate and improve workflow processes with internal and external partners, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
+ Analyze team operating procedures, identify improvements, innovate, and deliver training for the operations team.
+ Prepare and present weekly KPI/Metrics reports, focusing on problem-solving and forecasting.
+ Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of EXPORT operations processes, implementing improvements as needed.
+ Participate in the post-entry review process/ISA and discuss results with the team.
+ Maintain and update HTS and FDA product code databases.
+ Provide guidance to Specialists based on post-product reviews conducted by the Tariff Engineering Manager.
+ Monitor daily activities with brokerage companies.
+ Support Customs Specialists in resolving customs clearance issues, including CET/MET exams and CPSC, FDA, FWS, and USDA holds, in collaboration with Customs Brokers.
Qualifications:
+ Extensive knowledge of tariff classification for both Import and Export in general merchandise, including marine industry equipment, general construction materials, and food industry equipment.
+ 1+ years export operations experience
+ Strong expertise in ECCN designation process.
+ Confirmed ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact optimally with others.
+ Self-motivated, driven, and resilient.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, providing mentorship and assistance to others.
Capable of making independent judgments and decisions on relatively complex assignments, contributing significantly to the objectives of their area of responsibility.
