About this Role
We are seeking a dedicated Linux Systems Administrator to join our Operational Support (OPS) team. This role is vital in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of critical systems and applications. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Linux, a commitment to excellence, and a collaborative mindset to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational support during standard business hours (6:00 AM to 6:00 PM) and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation (typically every 4 to 5 weeks).
- Coordinate with team members to ensure complete coverage of operational hours.
- Perform Linux-based system administration, focusing on command-line operations, application management, and data/messaging flow.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues independently and collaboratively.
- Document operational processes, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps to maintain team knowledge continuity.
- Assist with the onboarding and training of new team members, ensuring a smooth transition into on-call rotations after 3 to 6 months of preparation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational initiatives and enhancements.
Key Technologies and Skills
- Proficiency in Linux system administration, including command-line expertise.
- Familiarity with application management and data/messaging flow operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills for documentation and collaboration.
- Experience with system performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- On-Call Support: Required; rotation typically every 4 to 5 weeks after training.
- Cybersecurity Workforce Improvement Program (CWIP): IAT Level 1 certification.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Linux required.
- Years of Experience:
- SA1: 5 years of relevant experience (no degree required).
- SA2: 10 years of relevant experience (no degree required).
- Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
