About the Job
Peavine Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced, compassionate Associate DVM to join our team as we embark on an exciting expansion to better serve the Reno/Sparks community.
We are growing our hospital to provide weekend hours, urgent care services, and elevating the level of veterinary medicine we can offer pets and their families.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to truly practice at the top of your license, utilizing your extensive skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional care. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:
- Supports excellence in client experience
- Works collaboratively with HM and Medical Director
- Practices high quality, gold standard medicine
- Examine, diagnose, and treat animals brought into the veterinary clinic/hospital for medical care
- Perform surgical procedures as needed, including routine spay/neuter operations as well as more complex surgeries
- Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, and preventative care plans
- Counsel pet owners on animal health, nutrition, behavior, and overall wellbeing
- Interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays, blood work, etc. and develop treatment plans
- Maintain comprehensive patient medical records and documentation
- Assist in emergencies and provide urgent/critical care when needed
- Stay up-to-date on new veterinary techniques, medications, and best practices
Competencies And Experience
- Valid and in good standing licensed veterinarian within the state of NV
- 2+ years of clinical experience
- Strong clinical and surgical skills and sound medical judgment
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Time-management and delegation abilities
- Exercises sound judgement and demonstrates exemplary decision-making skills
- Professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with others
