Summary:
The Expeditor is responsible for maintaining efficient workflow throughout the manufacturing process by updating and managing job status, moving materials between production stages, and communicating any issues that may hinder progress. This role plays a critical part in keeping production schedules on track, ensuring that all jobs are processed efficiently and effectively. The Expeditor will also assist in other areas such as packaging and basic inspections as needed.

Summary:
The Expeditor is responsible for maintaining efficient workflow throughout the manufacturing process by updating and managing job status, moving materials between production stages, and communicating any issues that may hinder progress. This role plays a critical part in keeping production schedules on track, ensuring that all jobs are processed efficiently and effectively. The Expeditor will also assist in other areas such as packaging and basic inspections as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Update Priority Sheet: Track and update the daily status and location of all jobs on the shop floor, ensuring accurate reporting and visibility for the Production Planning team.
- Job Movement: Transfer jobs from outbound shelves to inbound shelves at the next process step, ensuring smooth workflow and minimal downtime.
- Job Corrections: Review job packets for errors and correct the information on the physical job traveler and inside of Epicor.
- Priority Boards: Coordinate with Production Planning team to update priority boards daily.
- Track Critical Jobs: Monitor critical jobs closely daily, providing timely updates to the Production Planning team to ensure high-priority orders are on schedule.
- Problem Escalation: Identify and escalate production floor issues such as lack of tooling, incomplete or inadequate instructions, and other disruptions to supervisors or management for quick resolution.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assist Packaging Department: Support the packaging team with material handling and job finalization as required.
- Basic In-Process Inspections: Perform basic inspections of jobs during processing to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years working in a manufacturing facility
- Experience in Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics/High Tech, or other similar industry
- Must pass a Drug Test and background check prior to hire
