Work Schedule: 8 Hr (7:00:00 AM - 4:00:00 PM)
Summary:
Under direct supervision and according to established policies and procedures, is responsible for performing physician ordered exercise and pharmacologic stress testing. Shall be clinically and technically competent to independently perform the stress test component for exercise stress testing in both Nuclear Medicine and Stress Echocardiography for the adult population. Performs Exercise programs for patients in the Cardiac Rehabilitation program, monitors patient’s vitals in response to exercise and collaborates with RN/APN and physicians in Cardiac Rehab department. Working together with the Cardiology Nurses and the Cardiology staff, performs all aspects for patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety. Required Job Qualifications:
• Exercise Physiology or related field with experience in all aspects of exercise and pharmacological stress testing and cardiac rehab programs.
• Current BCLS certification
• ACLS (within 6 months of hire)
• Work requires a minimum of 1 year on the job experience in diagnostic stress testing.
• Good interpersonal skills for proper communication
• Self-Directed and independent
• Computer skills
Physical Demands:
• Work requires the ability to stand and walk throughout most of the designated shift.
• Work requires the following physical activity:
• Sitting, climbing, kneeling crawling (1-10% of time)
• Carrying objects 50 to >100 pounds and Lifting objects 75 to > 100 pounds (11-33% of time)
• Carrying objects 25-50 pounds and Lifting objects 50-75 pounds (34-66% of time)

Responsibilities:
• Performs cardiac diagnostic stress testing, which includes treadmill, pharmacological and nuclear stress test and resting ECG.
• Ability to assess level of patient care and any contraindications to performing diagnostic stress test.
• Correctly performs resting and stress 12 lead ECG according to departmental policy and procedures.
• Ability to accurately interpret rest and stress 12 lead ECG and document any abnormalities
• Reports critical findings promptly interpreting Cardiologist and conveys appropriate, relevant information to physicians and other health care providers.
• Produces safe, accurate and complete exams within scope of practice.
• Follows infection control and patient safety guidelines
• Performs all duties in compliance with HIPPA, Joint Commission hospital and department standards and policies.
• Uses proper hand hygiene, two patient identifiers and time out. Reports any concerns to proper personnel.
• Proficient knowledge and use of EMR (electronic medical record) EPIC system.
• Proficient knowledge and use of MERGE system for stress reports
• Proficient knowledge of cardiac rehabilitation telemetry monitoring, Scottcare system.
• Obtains accurate patient history and ensure patient confidentiality and safety are maintained.
• Completes all work in a timely manner
• Operates, cares for and maintains equipment and ensures procedure room readiness following infection control standards.
• Acts as a team player and works cooperatively with other staff members throughout the organization.
• Is proactive suggesting department and hospital improvements
• Participates in quality improvement/quality assurance
• Provides training and performance feedback to coworkers
• Understands the value of teamwork and team building and applies these principles.
• Willingly accepts additional responsibility and/or other duties assigned.
• Works in partnership with patients, families, coworkers and physicians to enhance the costumer experience in delivery of exceptional care.
