Established in 1909 and located on 187 acres of beautiful property in Paramus, New Jersey Arcola Country Club features an 18-hole golf course designed by Walter Travis, Herbert H. Barker, and Robert Trent Jones Sr. Measuring 6,872 yards from its longest tees and featuring four sets of tees for different skill levels, the course hosts 20,000 rounds annually. Members enjoy dining in the Club’s Main Dining Room, Mixed Grill Room, Men’s Grill Room, The Turn Bar, and a new restaurant, The 1909 Grill. The Club has recently completed a $12 million renovation to the clubhouse and its food & beverage facilities. A multi-million-dollar golf course and driving range renovation are set to begin in late 2025. The clubhouse is open year-round except for January. Annual gross revenues are $10.8 million with food and beverage revenues of $2+ million. The Club enjoys a full membership of 375 with a waitlist.
Executive Sous Chef:
Arcola Country Club is seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Sous Chef who is the Best of the Best, a consummate professional to be responsible for daily culinary operations of the club in support of the Executive chef and culinary staff. This role is pivotal in leading the Back of House (BOH) operations. The ideal candidate will be recognized in the industry and possess the appropriate combination of skills, leadership and personality best suited to the needs of the club. The expectation is that the quality and consistency of all culinary operations will exceed those of comparable clubs in the area. The ideal candidate is a strong organized, hands-on leader who is committed to excellence. They are self-motivated, capable of leading and building a cohesive team, and possess a modern approach to team building. Experience in banquets, buffet presentation and fine dining required. Additionally, the candidate must have a career path that demonstrates growth and development in previous years leading up to this point of application.
