Minimum Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Work Experience:
- Preferred some experience in administrative support roles.
Job Duties:
- Prioritize multiple assignments, schedule meetings and conference calls
- Maintain electronic schedules/calendars and various tracking systems
- Answer telephone calls, type correspondence, and order office supplies
- Provide high-level administrative support for project-specific workgroups, including taking notes, compiling minutes, synthesizing information, and preparing reports
- Monitor shared email inboxes for incoming correspondence, verify the accuracy of information provided, refer inquiries to appropriate staff for processing, and follow up as necessary to ensure a timely response
- Complete special assignments and other necessary administrative functions as assigned
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Previous experience working for a Federally funded nutrition program, such as WIC
- Experience working in a fast-paced office setting, conducting a wide range of administrative tasks to support program operations
- Experience working in a government setting
Misc. Information:
- 8-hour workday that includes a 30-minute lunch period. Shifts must begin no earlier than 9:00 am and end no later than 5:00 pm.
- Free and paid parking options available at the location: Paid parking options include $55.00 for a covered space and $45.00 for a space on the roof.
- Modes of public transportation in close proximity to the worksite location include CDTA bus routes: 22, 524, 922, and 923.
- Interviews will be conducted in person.
- Temporary employees need to include a check or money order (no cash) for $13 (made out to NYSDOH) in order to receive an identification card.
- Training will be provided.
