Position Summary
The Executive Director will serve as the chief executive and administrative officer of Rochdale Village Social Services providing visionary and strategic leadership, managing day to day operations, and working with the Board of Directors to achieve the organization’s mission and goals.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans and policies that support the mission and goals of the program;
- Supervises the directors of both the Rochdale Village Senior Center and the Norc Program;
- Manage the financial and operational performance of the program and ensure stability and growth;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including funders and community leaders;
- Provide update reports to the Board of Directors;
- Provide inspirational leadership to staff, volunteers, and the Board of Director;
- Represent the program to the public and promote its mission and goals;
- Selects, directs, and evaluates staff; oversees and prioritizes, when necessary, work to be done;
- Ensure training and development of staff;
- Instructs staff in the appropriate work procedures;
- Spearheads and take appropriate action to resolve employee problems, concerns and complaints, responds to grievances, issues warnings and reprimands for inadequate performance and improper behavior, takes necessary disciplinary action.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field;
- Experience working with clients that are affected by issues including neglect, child abuse, domestic violence, mental health, and parental substance abuse;
- Ability to give full attention to what social service clients are saying, understand the points being made, ask questions, and not interrupt inappropriately;
- Awareness of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do;
- Ability to judge the relative costs and benefits of potential social service and health care actions and choose the most appropriate one;
- Comfortable using a computer for various tasks;
- Proficient in word, excel, outlook, and PowerPoint;
- Ability to stay calm and empathize with clients when they are upset;
- Licensed clinical social worker;
- Able to develop a treatment plan;
- Knowledge of crisis intervention.
