The Executive Director of Patient Services and Field Reimbursement will be responsible for overseeing and leading a comprehensive patient services organization for a pharmaceutical manufacturer specializing in rare disease products. This role will manage and optimize the operations of the Patient Support Hub, Field Reimbursement Specialists, Nurse Educators, Continuity of Care team, Financial Assistance programs (including copay cards), and other key functions. The successful candidate will ensure patients receive seamless support throughout their treatment journey, enhancing patient access to therapy and improving overall patient outcomes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned)
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for Patient Services in alignment with company goals and rare disease therapeutic areas.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of professionals across multiple functions, including the Patient Support Hub, Field Reimbursement Specialists, Nurse Educators, and Continuity of Care teams.
- Drive operational excellence, efficiency, and effectiveness across all patient support programs.
Patient Support Hub Management:
- Oversee the Patient Support Hub to ensure patients and healthcare providers receive high-quality support with product access, adherence, and therapy management.
- Implement strategies to improve patient engagement and enhance overall service delivery.
Field Reimbursement & Nurse Educators Management:
- Lead the Field Reimbursement Specialist team to provide in-depth access and reimbursement support to healthcare providers and patients.
- Oversee the Nurse Educator program, ensuring patients receive high-quality education, training, and support to maximize adherence and treatment outcomes.
Continuity of Care & Financial Assistance Programs:
- Direct the Continuity of Care team to ensure patients maintain uninterrupted access to therapy.
- Develop and manage financial assistance programs, including copay cards, patient assistance programs, and other affordability solutions, ensuring alignment with compliance and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g., Market Access, Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Compliance) to align patient services initiatives with broader business objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as healthcare providers, specialty pharmacies, payers, and advocacy groups.
Data & Performance Management:
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of patient support programs and drive continuous improvement.
- Utilize data analytics to identify trends, insights, and opportunities to optimize patient services.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure all patient services programs comply with regulatory, legal, and corporate policies, including those related to privacy, reimbursement, and financial assistance.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices, particularly within the rare disease space.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, healthcare, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD, etc.) preferred
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in patient services, market access, reimbursement, or related functions within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with a strong preference for experience in rare disease products.
Skills:
- Proven experience managing patient support programs, including field reimbursement, nurse educators, and financial assistance initiatives.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- In-depth knowledge of patient access, reimbursement, affordability solutions, and healthcare regulations.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to navigate complex, matrixed environments and drive cross-functional initiatives. - Experience working with specialty pharmacies, payers, and healthcare providers is highly desirable.

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This position regularly requires long hours and may include weekend work.
TRAVEL
Eastern time zone preferred. Living near a major airport is preferred.
Travel as appropriate to implement strategic initiatives, approximately 25%-50%.

Salary range: $245,000 to $300,000
