Executive Director
The Executive Director oversees all aspects of the agencys programs and operations. The Executive Director advocates for the agency by connecting with community resources and developing partnerships to enhance client's ability to serve the chronically mentally ill. The Executive Director creates community connections to identify developments and upcoming changes in the human services environment, building on these connections as a way to inform organizational priorities. The Executive Director is responsible for the financial sustainability of the agency as well as ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
This is a Direct Hire role.
What you will be doing as a Executive Director
Strategic Leadership
- Develop strategies to advance the organizations mission and goals.
- Propose short-term and long-term agency goals to the Board of Directors for approval.
- Present agency policies and procedures, current and updated, for Board approval.
- Monitor and supervise agency goals to ensure achievement.
Financial Management
- Demonstrate expertise in agency financing mechanisms and provide monthly financial reports to the Board of Directors.
- Identify and secure grants and explore alternative funding sources.
- Act as the primary fiduciary agent for client.
- Establish and oversee funding and budgeting to support staff, programs, and client needs.
- Collaborate with Finance Director to develop an annual budget for Board approval.
- Monitor budget performance, funding acquisition, and expense management.
- Ensure appropriate insurance coverage for all agency properties and equipment.
Operational Management
- Supervise all aspects of client programs and operations.
- Ensure agency compliance with Municipal, County, State, and Federal regulations.
- Conduct and document audits to validate ongoing agency compliance.
- Manage documentation requirements for business licensure, agency accreditation, and other mandates.
Staff & Volunteer Management
- Recruit, hire, and oversee staff with a focus on leadership, support, and professional development.
- Cultivate an inclusive and collaborative work environment that prioritizes diversity and equity.
- Provide competitive benefits packages for all staff.
- Engage and assist volunteers in contributing to the organizations mission.
Community Engagement & Advocacy
- Represent the agency as the main public relations contact.
- Participate in membership groups and committees to enhance community engagement.
- Advocate for sustainable program rates through partnerships, advocacy efforts, and engagement with policymakers.
- Establish collaborative relationships with agencies aligned with the organization's mission.
Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Executive Director
- Bachelor's degree in social services related field. Masters degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience working in leadership roles in social services or non-profit management.
- Proven track record of strategic planning, financial management, and program development.
- Knowledge of social services financing, including Medicaid, and waiver programs.
- Knowledge of real estate asset management preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass dependent adult/child abuse and criminal background checks.
- Valid Drivers License and insurable on client insurance policies.
