Global Risk Services' mission is to partner with RGA's global workforce to facilitate sound risk analysis for decision making to achieve RGA's strategic and financial objectives. The Executive Director, Global ERM Projects is responsible for the execution of ERM Projects to embed a consistent, value-adding and flexible risk management framework across the enterprise to achieve this mission and ensure a strong and capable second line.
Leads the execution of selected project workstreams for an important multi-year global Enterprise Risk Management Program to deliver better insights and an enterprise view of operational risk exposure, relative to established tolerances
- Lead the workstream related to developing risk tolerances for all operational risks.
- Develop presentation materials for board-level presentations
- Coordinate and facilitate the risk identification and assessment process
- Assist in the inherent and residual risk assessment process for operational risk
- Review and challenge first line assessments, including impact and other criteria
- Participate in the development of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), dashboards and other reporting requirements
- Support the integration of the program into RGA's existing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework
Support the Head of Global Sustainability Risk and serve as a lead enterprise risk framework advisor. This includes being an ERM expert in the ongoing development, enhancement and implementation of RGA's global enterprise risk management framework. Apply knowledge and creativity to continuously improve and adapt this framework to suit the needs of executive management, Global Risk Services colleagues, business segments and the changing external environment.
Assist the Head of Global Sustainability Risk with various tasks as needed, such as leading efforts to enhance the risk management framework.
Education and Experience :Required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in enterprise risk management or related risk fields with responsibilities
Preferred:Recognized enterprise risk management designation or education
Master's Degree, MBA, FSA or CPA/CA
Cross company and/or cross industry risk management experience
Skills and Abilities- Experience working in enterprise risk management disciplines with a focus on risk & control self-assessments, emerging risks and key risk indicators
- Clear understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and requirements impacting financial institutions
- Strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by all stakeholders at various levels
- Excellent ability to drive to conclusions and deliver results on a timely basis
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills utilizing experience, research, guidelines, and internal resource networks
- Ability to identify and resolve technical, operational and organizational issues
- Advanced project management skills. Demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives and scope feasibility, gain understanding, schedule resources, and manage budget to plan.
- Proven experience in managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, including the ability to handle changing priorities.
- Ability to foster a collaborative, teamwork oriented and customer service focused environment that leads to consistent, value-adding solutions
- Able to quickly learn and understand the business of RGA
- Able to work autonomously as part of a global team and also manage time zone scheduling challenges.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills including spreadsheets and presentation software.

$120,375.00 - $179,365.00 Annual
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
