POSITION: Executive Director FT
SUPERVISOR: Senior Regional Director of Operations and Clinical Services
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Education: High School Diploma required. Nursing or Social Work background preferred.
Experience: Preferably experience in a long-term care or other health care environment with a background in management experience. Budget experience preferred. Marketing experience is desirable.
Working Conditions: Office setting environment; light lifting; irregular hours; routine engagement with residents, staff, families and visitors.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Responsible for the total operation of the facility, and also responsible to the licensing agency and the monitoring agency for meeting and maintaining all licensure standards.
Responsible for the development and management of facility services and accommodations and the hiring and training of qualified staff so that the facility meets the licensure standards even in their absence.
Responsible for ensuring facility training and inservice programs are up to date and meet requirements.
Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of all accounting and bookkeeping functions, recordkeeping, marketing/public relations programs, maintenance of the building and grounds, and all assisted living services.
Responsible for all fiscal management by operating within the approved budget to ensure the facility maintains a consistent positive financial position.
Manage all expenses according to budget and communicate with the CFO and RDO the weekly running balance so funds can be appropriately distributed into the operating account.
Review monthly financials and ensure all department heads are within budget and if not provide the guidance needed to help them achieve budget goals.
Ensure all monthly financial information and bank reconciliations for the building is provided to the Director of Finance by the 7th of each month.
Review A/R aging weekly and following up on all unpaid accounts if accounts exceed $10,000 contact CEO and Regional Director for assessment.
Ensuring all department heads have and understand their budgets and provide guidance as needed to help them meet the budget amounts.
Reviewing payroll to ensure overtime is kept to a minimum.
Participate in annual budget meetings with the Senior Regional Director of Operations (RDO) and CEO.
Responsible for quality assurance.
Must dress appropriately to represent the facility in a professional manner. Business casual is the standard but may be required to attend events that require more formal attire.
Ensure all staff are dressed appropriately in their required uniforms when working and look professional and clean. Appropriate non-skid shoes are required.
Directly supervise department managers and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments.
Management meetings as needed to keep all departments informed of pending issues in your community.
Responsible for the production of the safety and physical, mental and emotional health of the residents.
Answer all website inquiries in a timely manner.
Understand, embrace and teach Goodworks Best Practices to all staff. Ensure all staff
understand and conform to best practices of the Goodworks standards.
Create positive associate relations through staff appreciation programs, recognition of excellent performance, and retention through performance evaluations.
Maintain outreach and education within the community at large, creating positive relationships and marketing opportunities by closely working with professional, civic and private organizations.
Work closely with the Communications Director to develop and review marketing plans to meet financial goals.
Communicate with the RDO any requests for time off. Ensure coverage for the building in your absence.
Report all work comp events and claims to the RDO.
Ensure appropriate supplies are available to each department. Delegate this to appropriate managers as needed.
Responsible for all management yearly evaluations and recommendations for increases. Present increases to the RDO) for approval. Present yearly raises for all other staff as recommended by their immediate supervisor to the RDO and to Payroll for approval and processing.
Examine all building contracts and renegotiate as needed to ensure we are paying competitive rates and receiving good service.
Attend all required director meetings as scheduled.Maintain good relationships with residents, family members, staff and outside provider sources.
Fully trained to give professional tours to prospective residents and their families. Ensure any staff required to answer the phone and give tours are trained and capable of being professional and informative and communicate the information to the Executive Director.
Ensure all required inspections of building and equipment are completed on time and any identified issues are resolved timely.
Communicate any concerning incidents or issues to the RDO timely.
Stay up to date with any changes or additions to the State regulations.
Perform walk-throughs of the building and grounds to assure that the building presents in the best light possible and to interact with residents, staff, family members and visitors to assure customer satisfaction.
Respecting HIPPA laws and maintaining confidentiality.
Review all terminations and ensure all documentation is up to standard in the event of a lawsuit or unemployment requests. Notify the RDO timely of any notifications of a lawsuit or unemployment requests.
Understand all job duties and communicate to the supervisor if you do not. You will be held accountable for those job duties and subject to reprimand if they are not performed as trained.
