What You'll Do:
This position, reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, will be the key accounting resource for the company overseeing all revenue recognition activities. These activities include management of revenue recognition policies, including EAC policy. Review and approval of quarterly program EACs, review and approval of revenue recognition checklists and revenue worksheets and harmonization of revenue recognition processes across V2X. An ideal candidate will have management experience in a government contracting environment with international operations and be capable of working successfully with employees at all levels and across all departments of the company. In addition, this position will help set accounting policies, design and implement automation of revenue recognition processes, and improve procedures and internal controls. The position works collaboratively within the broader Finance team as well as with business partners throughout the company such as Compliance, Legal, IT, and Contracts. This position offers significant company-wide exposure for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities:
+ Review revenue recognition processes across the organization and following evaluation, implement enhancements to achieve consistent, harmonized revenue recognition processes.
+ Manage revenue recognition policy, include EAC policy.
+ Review all level three EACs to evaluate consistency of EAC process and to approve final submitted EAC on a quarterly basis.
+ Review and approve all revenue recognition checklists to ensure appropriate documentation for new contracts and modifications greater than $15 million Annual Contract Value (ACV).
+ Review all accounting and finance policies and procedures to ensure appropriate policies/procedures are in place to ensure consistent accounting treatment in compliance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
+ Drive standardization and documentation of processes and controls.
+ Manage V2X Risk Assessment process in conjunction with VP of Internal Audit. Responsibilities include assessing overall company risk and development of mitigation activities.
+ Continually evaluate and optimize revenue recognition processes, striving to deliver process automation and improved accuracy.
+ Establish strong relationships with inter-departmental peers and be the “go to” revenue recognition source in the company
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: • Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required. • Certifications/Licenses: • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required, active status preferred. • Experience: • Minimum of twelve (12) years' of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience. • Experience with managing inter/intracompany transactions and elimination entries. • Systems experience with Infinium, JAMIS, IFS, Kyriba or Ultipro is a plus. • Other Requirements: • U.S. Citizenship required
Desired Qualifications: • Experience in government contracting industry preferred. • Experience with a Big 4 or other national accounting firm preferred.
Skills and Technology Used: • Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving: • Proven ability and desire to work effectively, delivering accurate results under tight deadlines, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. • Business Partner/Finance Acumen: • Technically strong knowledge of GAAP and SEC requirements, public company reporting and SOX compliance experience. • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and statements. • Knowledge of cost accounting principles a plus. • Business Partner/Effective Communication: • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management. • Collaboration and Teamwork/Influence: • Must be “hands on” and a proven and effective leader with experience in leading a corporate accounting or SEC reporting organization while garnering trust and loyalty from subordinates.
