Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at our esteemed upscale steak house in Charlotte, NC. The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, menu development, food quality, and staff management to ensure the highest standards of excellence are maintained. The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary background, exceptional leadership skills, and a creative flair for crafting innovative and delectable dishes that delight our discerning clientele.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation, to ensure consistency and excellence in quality.
- Develop and execute creative and seasonally inspired menus that showcase the finest cuts of steak and other premium ingredients while also catering to diverse dietary preferences and culinary trends.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with all health codes and regulations.
- Source and select the highest quality ingredients from reputable vendors and suppliers while also managing inventory, food costs, and budgetary targets.
- Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and culinary excellence.
- Collaborate closely with the management team to plan and execute special events, private dining experiences, and promotional activities.
- Stay informed about industry trends, culinary techniques, and emerging ingredients to elevate the restaurant's offerings and reputation continuously.
- Foster positive relationships with guests, solicit feedback, and strive to exceed expectations in all aspects of the dining experience.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef in a high-end steak house or fine dining restaurant.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary institution.
- Extensive knowledge of meat preparation, cooking techniques, and flavor profiles, particularly in the realm of steak.
- Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated track record of effectively managing and developing kitchen staff.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
