About the Job

We are looking for an experienced chef with experience in bulk style food production/catering. Looking for someone in it for the long haul, will highly compensate and offer incentives to the right person. 1 Year Trial period at $30/hour, then we will re-negotiate terms based on performance and capabilities. This is top level leadership position with possibilities for ownership interest. Must be willing to work with current owner/chef, be receptive to how we do things while also bringing improvements to our current systems.

Our facility prepares and cooks 4000+ meals daily for metro-area charter schools.

Job Details:

Must pass a background check and drug test. Must have a valid drivers license.
Menu planning: Collaborate with our USDA nutrition expert to create nutritionally balanced school meal offerings.
Food preparation: Oversee prep work and ensure food is prepared safely and meets standards.
Kitchen staff management: Hire, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff.
Quality control: Ensure food is presented well to customers.
Financial oversight: Collaborate with food service directors to control costs.
Health and safety: Ensure the kitchen is clean, organized, and safe, and that staff follow food safety laws.
Customer service: Act as a liaison between kitchen staff, customers, and clients.
Inventory management: Oversee the procurement of ingredients and manage kitchen inventory.

Other responsibilities may include: Leading pre-shift meetings, Handling customer complaints, and Setting and implementing kitchen policies and procedures.

This position requires overnight shifts, possibly as early as 12 AM. Generally, hours are somewhere between 12 AM to 12 PM. Some weekend hours (very flexible), holidays typically off. Will have to discuss with owner.
