50 years of being in business with a smile!!!! We are an independently owned excursion/charter boat company with a variety of cruises. We offer 90-120 minute excursion cruises - Sightseeing, Happy Hour, Yacht Rock, Shipwrecks, Brew City Boat Series and private charter events.
Our 80 foot, double decker, 150 passenger vessel is in great condition and provides guests with ample viewing and seating.
We are looking at add to our staff of Captains!!! We're looking for someone for a full time Captain to free the owners time as he's currently the main Captain on duty. Apply now to hear more!!!!

About the Company: We operate a premier excursion boat service, offering unforgettable experiences to passengers seeking adventure and relaxation on the water. Our fleet includes an 80 ft double-decker excursion boat capable of accommodating up to 150 passengers. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all guests.
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Excursion Boat Captain to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our 100-ton, double-decker excursion boat, providing passengers with memorable journeys along scenic waterways. The Excursion Boat Captain will oversee all aspects of vessel operation, including navigation, crew management, safety protocols, and customer service.
The season runs from mid May to mid Sept. 40 hours are available but can accommodate as low as 20 hours.
Cruises are 90-120 mins and operate daily. Cruises start at 11am and last cruise returns at 11pm on the weekends. You would not be expected to work the entire day.
The shift can be worked around your availability. There are other Captains on the schedule but we’d love to add another to free up the owners time as he’s the main captain currently. Also, he’s great!
Responsibilities:
1. Safe Vessel Operation: Operate the excursion boat in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Ensure the safety of passengers, crew, and vessel at all times.
2. Navigation: Navigate the vessel along designated routes, taking into account weather conditions, water traffic, and potential hazards. Monitor weather forecasts and make decisions accordingly to ensure passenger safety and comfort.
3. Crew Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of deckhands and other crew members. Delegate tasks as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the vessel and provide excellent customer service to passengers.
4. Customer Service: Interact with passengers in a friendly and professional manner, providing information about points of interest, safety procedures, and onboard amenities. Address passenger concerns and inquiries promptly and courteously.
5. Maintenance and Inspections: Oversee routine maintenance tasks and inspections to ensure the proper functioning of vessel systems and equipment. Coordinate with maintenance staff and shore-based management to address any maintenance issues or repairs promptly.
6. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond effectively to emergencies or incidents that may arise during voyages, including medical emergencies, mechanical failures, or adverse weather conditions. Implement emergency procedures as necessary to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
7. Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate logs and records of vessel operations, including fuel consumption, passenger counts, maintenance activities, and any incidents or accidents. Ensure compliance with recordkeeping requirements set forth by regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:
- Hold a valid U.S. Coast Guard Master Mariner Credential
- Great Lakes / Near Coastal endorsements for operating a vessel of the specified size and passenger capacity.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a boat captain, preferably with experience operating excursion or passenger vessels in high traffic areas.
- Hospitable personality!! You’re not the entertainment for the guests but you need to have a friendly hospitable personality as the Captain of the shift.
- Strong navigational skills and knowledge of local waterways, including safe navigation practices and potential hazards. This includes flowing water in a river inside city limits.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team of crew members and interact with passengers from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, etc
