Excavation Superintendent

 A well-established, employee-owned, Illinois based civil contractor with over 60 years of experience is seeking an experienced Excavation Superintendent to join their team. This is an amazing opportunity for candidates looking to take their career to new heights in a reputable company.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of excavation operations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Oversee and coordinate equipment, materials, and manpower allocation for excavation projects.
• Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to determine project objectives and requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and provide guidance to field staff to maintain quality and efficiency.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop and implement excavation plans and strategies, including resource allocation and scheduling.
• Supervise and train field personnel, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety protocols.
• Monitor and control project costs, including labor, equipment, and materials.
• Review and interpret project blueprints, specifications, and contract documentation.
• Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

Skills:

•  Minimum 5 years’ experience as a heavy equipment operator
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in excavation operations within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of excavation techniques, equipment, and materials.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively direct and motivate teams.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting project plans, specifications, and contracts
• Experience with roadway and site development.
