Responsibilities:
Excavation Estimator, you will be tasked with a broad range of responsibilities that are integral to the success of our construction projects. Key duties include:
1. Conducting detailed cost analyses and preparing excavation estimates for a variety of construction projects.
2. Utilizing AutoCAD to create and interpret detailed technical drawings and plans.
3. Conducting regular site surveys to gather necessary data for estimating purposes.
4. Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve cost discrepancies.
5. Consulting with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve cost discrepancies.
6. Preparing, reviewing, and updating utility layouts for all construction projects.
7. Monitoring progress and changes, keeping a detailed record of all altering actions that can affect the project's timeline and budget.
8. Utilizing your industry expertise to predict potential challenges and devise solutions to mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Excavation Estimator role should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an excavation estimator role within the construction industry.
2. Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant software for creating and interpreting technical drawings.
3. Proven experience in surveying and utility layout preparation.
4. A thorough understanding of construction procedures, material costs, and project management principles.
5. Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present cost estimates in a clear and understandable manner.
7. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. A degree in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying would be advantageous.
