Overview: We are seeking an experienced Events & Catering Manager to join our dynamic team at Jonathan's Landing Golf Club. As the Events & Catering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of catering, social, and private events at our prestigious club. From initial contact to post-event evaluation, you will ensure every aspect of each event is meticulously organized, resulting in a seamless and exceptional experience for our members and guests.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Communication and Content Manager to effectively promote and market events.
- Identify and pursue event prospects while managing sales activities to drive revenue.
- Conduct venue tours and provide expert assistance in event planning.
- Maintain regular communication with members and guests throughout the planning process to exceed expectations.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage to finalize event details, including menus and pricing.
- Coordinate tastings as requested to ensure client satisfaction.
- Develop comprehensive Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with detailed floor plans and seating charts.
- Liaise with vendors for décor, linens, entertainment, etc., ensuring quality and value for each event.
- Collaborate closely with the Banquet Manager to oversee event execution and ensure seamless operations.
- Lead and attend all BEO Meetings to ensure alignment and clarity on event details.
- Coordinate all event logistics, including menu printing, decorations, equipment procurement, and special requests.
- Conduct pre-function meetings with servers to ensure efficient and professional service delivery.
- Address member and guest complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring swift resolution.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement and enhance banquet function quality.
- Collaborate with the Banquet Manager to maintain an adequate inventory of banquet service equipment and supplies.
- Prepare event billings and Catering P&L reports monthly, forwarding them to the Accounting Department.
- Promote Club events to members to enhance engagement and participation.
- Fulfill other tasks as assigned by the Clubhouse Manager to support overall operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a hospitality-related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of private club or hospitality experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar position at a club of similar size and stature.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, along with familiarity with Jonas software.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities in event planning and execution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
