Responsibilities
**General Purpose:**
With minimal direction and latitude for independent judgment, plans and executes University-sponsored special events and internal/external-sponsored conferences with appropriate University service and administrative departments.
**Specific Responsibilities:**
Under general direction from manager, and with latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative within established goals, policies and procedures:
Manage designated special event programs, including but not limited to academic ceremonies, faculty conferences, meetings and institutional events, as well as, providing planning and development advice for department/ school representatives.
+ Coordinate and arrange with appropriate agencies for services such as, event technology, dining services, public safety, parking, furniture rental.
+ Attend and oversee events.
+ Creating and managing event registration pages and providing attendance reports to event stakeholders.
+ Develop and manage budgets and revenues, including cost estimates, general accounting controls and reconciliation procedures for events as assigned.
+ Manage and schedule student staff for events.
+ Establish and maintain positive, productive relationships with various campus constituents and external vendors/ service providers to ensure that service capabilities and client expectations are consistent.
Manage annual planning tasks related to the University Commencement ceremony and school-based ceremonies. Responsible for working with University wide constituents.

+ Foster clear and constructive communications with clients and service departments to ensure that service capabilities are consistent with both client and University expectations.
Contribute to the development of long-term goals and strategic planning for the Event and Classroom Management Office.
Assist in design, administration and analysis of evaluative instruments to assess effectiveness of services and delivery efforts.
Contribute to streamlining service efforts by assisting in development of instructional event-based manuals, databases, forms, budgets and other projects as needed to promote cost or time saving measures.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in planning events and/or conferences is preferred.
+ Proven qualities of initiative, professionalism, team orientation and a commitment to client/customer service.
+ Proficient in using the Microsoft Office (word and excel)
+ Strong problem-solving skills
+ Excellent customer service skills
+ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

**Pay Range**
Pay Range: $ 20.00 - $ 38.46 Hourly
_The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._
