Salary: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour (based on experience and shift)

Summary of Position:
Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Event Operations, this role will be responsible for the setup, breakdown, and execution of onsite events. Ensuring that all standards of quality and procedure are met. Some regular performance of event related and support functions, namely maintenance, housekeeping, and security, will be required.
Schedule may vary based on events and department needs; weekend shifts will be regularly required. This position is considered essential and may be required to work during emergency closings.
This position is located in Washington D.C. and Meridian requires MD, DC, or VA residence for all employees. Meridian offers a full and generous benefits package including medical, dental, retirement and free parking.
Position Responsibilities:
Event support duties; including but not limited to the setup, breakdown, and moving of conference tables and other furniture, AV equipment, and banquet items.
Quality control, including reviewing event setups for accuracy, visual presentation, and all hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Some maintenance, janitorial, and gardening support duties may be required, including but not limited to vacuuming and mopping, raking, trash removal, dusting, re-stocking of products and minor household repairs.
General safety/security duties such as securing of exterior doors, gates, windows, and critical offices. This position may provide limited event security and reception services as needed.

Education/Experience:
1-3 years relevant experience
Direct experience in non-profits, event centers, and/or historic buildings a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Superior attention to detail with dedication to providing the best service possible
Verbal, written, and spoken communication skills in English are required; bi-lingual in English and Spanish welcomed
Hands-on, supportive attitude; demonstrated willingness and ability to perform a variety of functions as best suits the needs of the department and team members
Strong inter-cultural social skills; displays maturity, cultural sensitivity, and tact suitable for working with individuals from around the world
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times

Technical Requirements:
Must have the ability to access and use an employer provided smartphone, iPad, and electronic timekeeping system
Physical Effort and Dexterity:
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, work outside in inclement weather, carry heavy items and other equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
Scheduling and Environment:
2nd shift is typically a 5-day work week including some Saturdays. Hours may vary but 2:00pm to 10:45pm, with a 45-minute lunch break, serves as base schedule. Some shifts may run up to or past 12:30am.
Alternate base schedules may be considered at employer's discretion provided consistent availability is maintained; schedules will vary based on department need
