**Position Overview**
**Title:** Event Manager
**Reports to:** Assistant Director of Operations
**Department:** Learning and Event Services
**FLSA:** Exempt
**Summary:**
The Event Manager (EM) plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive support throughout all stages of event planning and execution. Based on-site, this position ensures seamless coordination and communication to uphold our organization's mission and deliver exceptional experiences to our guests.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Serve as the primary point of contact for program planners, guests, faculty, and colleagues, providing attentive support throughout the event lifecycle.
- Coordinate all aspects of assigned programs and events, including budgeting, space allocation, logistics planning, and communication.
- Collaborate with the Director of Event Services and production team to develop efficient systems for event execution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all client communication and event details in relevant systems.
- Proactively troubleshoot challenges and conflicts, anticipating and addressing potential issues before they arise.
- Maintain awareness of inventory, equipment, and venue availability, communicating any needs or concerns to relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate clear and timely communication with internal departments to ensure seamless event coordination.
- Uphold organizational standards of hospitality and excellence, ensuring every event aligns with our quality standards and guest expectations.
**Qualifications:**
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented approach, with a focus on problem-solving and proactive resolution.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer systems.
- Previous experience in event management preferred, with a background in hospitality or related fields.
- CMP designation preferred.
- College degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
- Alignment with our organization's mission, vision, and values.
**Work Environment:**
This role is based on-site in our office/campus environment and does not offer remote work options. Occasional offsite work or business-related travel may be required with prior approval.
