Job Title:Events Manager

The Events Manager will manage event inquiries and bookings, manage reservation inquiries and assist in event set up and execution as needed. Increasing the events and catering business through outreach and networking, while also creating systems to streamline the booking process and event communication with FOH & BOH teams will be the primary focus for the events manager. The Events Manager will report to the Copra General Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Extend inclusive, professional hospitality to guests and fellow employees alike
Respond to all event and catering inquiries with a sense of urgency
Use Tripleseat to keep accurate records of inquiries and bookings and their status, process event payments and produce BEOs for BOH and FOH management and staff
Convert all leads to create a guest database
Set reminders to follow up on all leads to whom you have sent private dining information and note any reason given for bookings that have been turned down
Track local events to forecast potentially busy event periods and do outreach as needed
Be present for restaurant buyouts as the primary contact for the guest and to assist in orchestrating the event
Communicate through BEOs and in person in a clear and timely manner about all upcoming events and catering orders and any last-minute changes or requests
Maintain a strong knowledge of food and beverage menus
Think strategically about how to leverage revenue through menu formatting and pricing
Provide regular feedback to the kitchen, bar and service teams on the success of dishes/drinks and where there is room for efficiencies
Meet weekly with the kitchen team to communicate bookings and prospects 2-4 weeks out
Work with FOH managers to find the most efficient ways for event execution while maximizing revenue
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend weekly manager meetings
Learn the reservation software to understand the flow and turn expectations to effectively book large parties
Meet large party/event hosts on arrival and observe large parties periodically to better understand the execution and opportunities for improvement
Do event and catering outreach as guided by the COO and ownership
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES - REQUIRED
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Current Food Handler and Unlawful Harassment training certificates
Excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills
Genuine sense of hospitality, provides exemplary customer service
Proficient with various software applications including Instagram, Facebook, Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Strong typing and computer skills
Ability to read and write in English
Ability to use critical thinking and maintain an even temperament under pressure
Good time management and ability to effectively prioritize and multitask
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES - PREFERRED
Experience in an hourly and/or managerial role in FOH restaurant operations

Auditory and visual skills – Specific vision abilities required by this job include
close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to work additional hours or shifts occasionally at the last minute.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
Work hours will be between the hours of 9am – 8pm, Monday to Saturday, 5 days per week, approximately 40-50 hours per week. Exact days and hours may vary based on business needs. Some nights and weekends will be required.
COMPENSATION:
Salary $68,640 + 4% Commission
