If so, we have an incredible opportunity for an experienced Event Manager to join our boutique meeting agency.
The Role:
As an Event Manager, you will oversee, manage, and execute events and meeting projects from start to finish, ensuring objectives are met, client expectations are exceeded, budgets are maintained, and attendee satisfaction is achieved. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Event planning and execution (75%)
- Team management (10%)
- Partner/vendor communication (10%)
- Relationship management with clients (5%)
You will independently manage your own projects while contributing as a "captain" role to larger team projects. This involves overseeing all aspects of unique, multi-faceted events of varying sizes and scales, including budget management, attendee management, general session production, site selection, food and beverage, activities, transportation, and creative/media development.
Utilizing our project management tools, you will create and maintain project timelines, organize files, communicate with the project team, and archive documentation. You will exercise autonomy while adhering to our project processes, think outside the box, and pursue opportunities to create authentic and unique gatherings.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
You will act as the main client liaison, providing proactive consultation throughout program development and execution, while securing future recurring and new business opportunities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for setting the tone and practicing effective meeting criteria when working internally and externally.
You will collaborate with and direct internal project teams, including Coordinators, Designers, Managers, Production Designers, contractors, and interns. Additionally, you will engage with our preferred vendors, sourcing, negotiating, and managing budgets and specifications while strengthening partnerships.
Requirements:
- Accountability for quality control, event/client health, and responsible COGS management at or above 5% per gathering
- Independently manage a portfolio of $250-325K+ in project revenue, including at least (2) medium-sized projects $50,000+ NET
- Bachelor's Degree or higher education preferred
- Portfolio of "Gathering" work - 4+ years of experience
- Adaptability and a customer-centric mindset
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Attention to detail
- Vulnerability and a sense of humor
- Ability to give and receive feedback and learn from it
- Love for teamwork and effective group interactions
