TSINY, a non-profit Mental Health Services Agency seeks Evening Supervisor for its Residential Program, located in Jamaica (Queens) NY.
Salary: $50,000 annually, $27.47/hr., (4pm-12am)
Valid Driver's License Required
Bachelor’s degree plus one year’s experience preferred
Position Summary
The Evening Supervisor coordinates and monitors the assessment, treatment planning and care coordination for residents on their caseload. The Evening Supervisor serves as an advocate and intermediary for and on behalf of residents’ rights. The Evening Supervisor will work in partnership with our residents to establish goals, find appropriate supports and access independent community housing.
Essential Functions
- Supervise evening shift.
- Assist residents in developing the skills, direction and motivation necessary to graduate to more independent housing settings.
- Assist residents to develop life skills in the direction of maximum autonomy.
- Assist residents to link up with community resources, such as employment, day programs, vocational rehabilitation services and health care services.
- Insure that residents receive periodic medical and dental attention.
- Maintain contact with: (1) TSINY Financial Specialist and follow up on related benefit matters, (2) all related treatment providers to insure integrated care between the residential program and other services.
- Meet on a regular basis with interdisciplinary team for assessment and information on resident.
- Facilitate skill development classes.
- Develop person-centered Service Plans.
- Work with counselors to monitor the implementation of Service Plan goals and evaluate progress.
- Visit hospitalized clients.
- Monitor medication.
- Provide crisis management when required.
- Submit recommendations/proposals for improvement in programming.
- Oversee staff’s implementation of clinical and programmatic assignments and responsibilities.
- Be available to other direct care and case management staff for direction, guidance and support.
- Periodically check to see that groups are running as scheduled in the evening.
- Be able to sit or stand as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- May require walking, primarily on a level surface, for short periods throughout the day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Be able to reach above shoulder heights, below the waist or lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Driver’s license required.
- During a declared disaster, assume and adhere to assigned Job Action role(s) consistent with Disaster Preparedness Plan.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Experience/Education/Skills/Abilities
Bachelor’s degree plus one year’s experience, Associate’s degree plus two years’ experience or High School diploma plus three years’ experience in mental health setting.
