About the Job
The Evening Administrative Assistant will be the public’s first point of contact, greet and assist visitors, and be responsible for clerical and administrative support for The Y’s Workforce Development Center
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive visitors and students enrolled in programming; assist them with information and direction as necessary
- Respond to phone calls and assist callers with information and direct calls to appropriate individuals
- Manage the database of clients by entering information as necessary and compiling reports while using discretion with sensitive and confidential information
- Follow up with students to obtain missing information and other pertinent material
- Assist with ongoing program recruitment and social media postings
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- Part-time position
- Evening hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM (Hours may change depending on programming)
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong administrative skills, including excellent computer and technology proficiency, particularly regarding Google Suite and social media
- Strong personal interaction and verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time
- Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred
WORK AUTHORIZATION & CLEARANCE:
- Documentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Must pass the background check, medical tests, fingerprinting through the Department of Health and Department of Education, and other pre-employment requirements
