PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The individual in this role will be responsible for ensuring that activities at Promat's US facilities are carried out in accordance with the company's environmental health & safety policies. Provide support and development of manufacturing personnel to realize a safe, lean, and flexible environment that values collective contributions, individual improvement, and company profitability. Participates in Promat's executive committee and leads activities to set and meet manufacturing performance, on-time delivery, and cost control targets.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership to support a safety-first culture and in establishment of safety goals and safety training plans for all departments.
Participates in strategic direction of the company's executive committee. Participation includes but not limited to monthly reporting on operational KPI's, quarterly and annual business planning, CAPEX spending, and overhead budgeting.
Actively communicate and liaise with factory personnel, logistics personnel, suppliers, customers and all other relevant personnel ensuring that a positive, constructive approach is adopted in line with company operating philosophy.
Directs efforts to ensure that all manufacturing activities are carried out in line with the company product specifications, ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 and all related accreditations and certifications.
Directs Purchasing to ensure that all raw materials, spare parts, stock items and IC-sales products are ordered and are available in line with manufacturing schedules and on-time deliveries while also minimizing equipment down time.
Direct Supply Chain efforts to ensure that logistics and purchasing functions drive customer satisfaction and help company achieve profitability goals.
Develops and implements training and development and succession plans for all manufacturing, purchasing, and logistics employees.
Responsible for factory budget development and adherence including annual product costing activities.
Responsible for dynamic relationship and team-building of production staff, mentoring, coaching, and providing disciplinary action, as needed.
Responsible for the recruitment of additional or replacement personnel as agreed in the budget plan.
Supervise and directs reports to optimize employee productivity, set priorities, communicate objectives, and monitor performance.
Must be a strong proven leader, able to motivate a large diverse group of people and build a team that functions together.
Must have a proven track record and demonstrated ability to think strategically then translate strategic vision into actionable plans that deliver results.
Serves as a change agent to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Communicates in clear, concise manner & manages conflict effectively.
Must be a team player with proven skills.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills:
A comprehensive understanding of manufacturing methods and techniques.
8+ years of managerial experience in a high-performance manufacturing or processing environment. Most of which was acquired in a plant management capacity within a truly lean manufacturing environment.
Bachelor's Degree…preferably in an engineering discipline.
Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
A non-compromising attitude to operating safely in the plant for the health and welfare of all associates.
English speaking.
Preferred:
A Master's Degree and/or Six-sigma Black-belt certification.

RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to the Region Manager.
Concurrently reports to Division Operations Manager.
Regular contact with Quality, Engineering and Human Resources Department.
Liaises with Sint-Niklaas - Belgium
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Requires walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day with occasional climbing of stairs and ladders to access manufacturing work areas. Reaching above shoulder heights or below the waist. Lifting of 50 pounds or more. Proper lifting techniques required. Minimal travel may be required (U.S. and International).
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in an engineering discipline.
