Job Title: Steel Estimator

Position Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Steel Estimator to join our dynamic team. The Steel Estimator will play a crucial role in accurately estimating the cost of steel projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documents. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a deep understanding of steel fabrication processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to accurately estimate the quantity and cost of steel materials required for each project.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deadlines.
Analyze blueprints and structural drawings to identify steel components, dimensions, and specifications.
Utilize estimating software and tools to generate precise material take-offs and cost estimates.
Research and evaluate potential suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for steel materials and services.
Prepare comprehensive cost proposals and bid packages for submission to clients.
Continuously monitor industry trends, material costs, and market conditions to ensure competitiveness and accuracy in estimating.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project negotiations as needed.
Provide technical support and expertise to project teams throughout the bidding and procurement process.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience as a Steel Estimator in the steel fabrication or construction industry.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of steel fabrication processes, industry standards, and materials.
