Remote Estimator – Division 8 Materials

Role Summary

As an Estimator specializing in Division 8 openings, you will leverage your expertise to perform detailed take-offs from architectural plans and specifications, prepare accurate and competitive proposals, and collaborate with contractors throughout the bidding and project award process. You’ll be instrumental in managing RFQs and RFIs, ensuring all requirements are met with precision and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed estimates based on architectural plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Utilize various estimating software applications to complete accurate take-offs.
• Perform precise calculations for Division 8 openings, including builders’ hardware, hollow metal doors, wood doors, storefront systems, dock doors, specialty doors, and more.
• Develop comprehensive proposals using internal software tools.
• Communicate effectively with contractors during bidding and project award processes, providing timely and clear RFIs as needed.
• Ensure proposals and estimates align with Fire Codes, Life Safety Codes, and ADA requirements.
• Deliver accurate and compliant solutions for builder's hardware needs.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Division 8 materials: Extensive knowledge of builders' hardware and a strong understanding of materials like doors, frames, and specialty openings.
• Experience in estimating: Proven track record in estimating Division 8 openings or a related field.
• Technical skills: Proficiency in reading architectural plans and specifications and using estimating software.
• Regulatory knowledge: Familiarity with Fire Codes, Life Safety Codes, and ADA requirements.
• Strong communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with contractors and team members.
• Detail-oriented: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all estimates and proposals.
