ESTIMATOR(Water/Wastewater Construction)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator with experience in water and wastewater construction projects. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment needed for upcoming projects. Familiarity with HCSS HeavyBid software is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of water/wastewater infrastructure and experience with project take-offs, bid proposals, and cost analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for water and wastewater construction projects.
- Perform material take-offs, labor estimates, and equipment cost analysis.
- Develop and maintain cost databases for various construction activities and resources.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to gather necessary pricing information and ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals, ensuring all requirements are met within budget and schedule constraints.
- Analyze subcontractor bids, negotiate pricing, and recommend the best value options for the project.
- Support project teams with change orders and cost adjustments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules and coordinate with other departments to ensure timely project delivery.
- Track and report on project costs, variances, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in estimating practices.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in estimating water and wastewater construction projects.
- Familiarity with HCSS HeavyBid software is preferred.
- Strong understanding of water and wastewater systems, including pipelines, treatment plants, and related infrastructure.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
