About the Job
JSG is seeking an experienced Estimator with water restoration/hazardous materials experience for a direct hire position in Los Angeles, CA.
A leading restoration company specializing in water loss, asbestos/lead abatement and construction.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in estimating, particularly in the emergency response/water restoration, abatement and construction fields. As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in assessing project requirements, evaluating costs, and preparing accurate estimates to ensure successful project execution.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough assessments of project sites to understand scope, specifications, and potential risks, particularly in asbestos and construction projects.
2. Collaborate with project managers and clients to gather necessary information for accurate estimation.
3. Analyze project plans, drawings, and specifications to determine materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
4. Utilize industry knowledge and expertise to accurately estimate costs, including labor, materials, subcontractor services, and overhead expenses.
5. Prepare detailed and competitive bids and proposals in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with company standards and client requirements.
6. Review and negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to asbestos removal, construction, and restoration.
8. Monitor project progress and budgetary performance, providing ongoing support and adjustments as needed.
9. Collaborate with the procurement team to source and procure materials and services at competitive prices.
10. Participate in pre-construction meetings, site visits, and project kick-off meetings as required.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the restoration, asbestos, or construction industry.
2. In-depth knowledge of asbestos removal regulations, construction methods, and restoration techniques.
3. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and specifications.
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders. Self-motivated.
5. Proven track record of successfully bidding and winning restoration projects, including asbestos abatement projects.
6. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
7. Certification or training in asbestos management and removal preferred.
8. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Salary $70K + commission
