Are you a dynamic, detail-oriented professional with a knack for numbers and a passion for construction? We are seeking a Permanent Estimator to join our rapidly growing team in the construction industry. This role is crucial to our business operations, as you will be responsible for developing cost estimates for our projects, providing crucial data that shapes our strategic decisions. As a Permanent Estimator, you will be part of a collaborative team, working closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective construction solutions to our clients.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Estimator, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting detailed analysis of project plans and specifications to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
2. Preparing and submitting competitive bid proposals, leveraging your understanding of market trends and pricing strategies.
3. Collaborating with project managers, architects, and engineers to understand project requirements and develop accurate estimates.
4. Utilizing advanced software tools for estimating, scheduling, and cost tracking.
5. Reviewing and interpreting MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) plans and specifications.
6. Providing support in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices and contracts.
7. Maintaining a comprehensive database of cost estimates, bids, and pricing information to support future projects and strategic decision-making.
8. Participating in post-bid reviews to learn from successes and challenges and continuously improve our estimating processes.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Estimator role will have:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating or a related role in the construction industry.
2. Proven expertise in preparing and submitting successful bids.
3. In-depth knowledge of MEP systems and the ability to interpret MEP plans and specifications.
4. Proficiency in using estimating software and other industry-specific tools.
5. Exceptional numerical skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
6. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
7. A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
