Job Description: Estimator for Overhead and Underground Electric Projects
Responsibilities:
- Prepare construction plans, takeoffs, material requirements, and cost estimates for electrical distribution, transmission overhead, and underground projects.
- Obtain and review subcontractor and material proposals.
- Lead and assist in developing all T&D work scopes (transmission, distribution, substation, etc.).
- Perform field visits to gather accurate technical data, minimizing the need for additional visits.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet all requirements.
- Communicate accurately with internal staff and customers using appropriate media (email, fax, phone, video, etc.).
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Possess basic knowledge of construction standards and industry practices.
- Have proficient knowledge of Excel, Word, and Adobe.
- Possess basic knowledge of the union workforce and collective bargaining agreements.
- Demonstrated successful track record of estimating in the T&D space.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
