As our Estimator/Purchasing Agent, you'll be at the heart of ensuring every home we build meets our high standards while staying on budget. You'll manage costs, work with trade partners, and ensure the seamless procurement of materials and labor. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on accuracy, enjoys working with numbers, and values strong relationships with vendors and team members alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Budgets & Purchase Orders: Develop accurate job cost budgets and generate purchase orders for construction projects.
- Collaborate with Trade Partners: Review, qualify, and hire trade partners. Negotiate competitive pricing, terms, and rebates from vendors and manufacturers.
- Bidding & Procurement: Solicit bids and secure labor and materials needed to meet our construction schedules.
- Support the Team: Assist superintendents and the operations manager by providing consistent, accurate information.
- Cost Management: Maintain and monitor job cost variances, reduce costs where possible, and ensure accuracy in all estimates.
- Document Management: Keep up-to-date records for all trade partners, including pricing, scopes of work, and compliance documentation.
- Handle Customizations: Price non-standard options for sales teams and process customer change orders quickly and accurately.
Qualifications:
- Detail-Oriented Professional:You have an eye for accuracy and are organized in managing pre-construction tasks.
- Team Player:You enjoy collaborating with team members, vendors, and trade partners to achieve shared goals.
- Construction Savvy:You understand construction processes, materials, and trends in the industry.
- Problem Solver:You're comfortable analyzing job cost variances and addressing challenges with actionable solutions.
- Tech-Enabled:Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Buildertrend), Excel, and other tools is a plus.
