Redmond Construction Company is a commercial general contractor with self-perform capabilities in commercial/industrial concrete & general trades. Join us as we contract in the Huntsville market and expand to opportunities in North Alabama!
Position Overview:
As the Estimator/Project Manager, you will be engaged in Business Development, Estimating, Purchasing, Project Setup, Ongoing Project Management and Project Closeout. You will also work closely with team members and participate in meetings, and work with the Office Manager on project accounts receivable and accounts payable actions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development
- Maintain/nurture designer relations with architects and engineers
- Source for new clients
- Estimating for general contracting projects using standard estimating templates
- Manage Project Startup
- Bonds, Insurance
- Review estimate
- Create new project, including setting up the schedule
- Set up SOV, billing and purchasing
- Ongoing Project Manage Activities
- Work with team members
- Manage Changes / Pricing (RFIs and addendums) and tracking costs
- Set schedule reminders
- Submit change orders/work orders
- Schedule meetings and prepare general correspondence
- Project Closeout
- Request and complete final Punch List
- Finalize Contract Amount and review with Office Manager
- Closeout with Sub Contacts
- Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable
- Review billing dates, anticipated payments date, and coordinate process for receiving payment
- Coordinate with Office Manager for accounts payable items
Qualification Requirements:
- College degree preferred
- Auburn Building Science is a plus
- Minimum of five years of experience
- Ten or more year of experience is a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Project Management Skills
- OSHA 30 Certification is preferred
- Bilingual is preferred, but not required

- PDF Reader (Bluebeam for Takeoffs)
- ExctTime for Timecards (or similar system)
- Archisnapper for Document Management (or similar system)
- Ability to manage repeat customers
- Ability to deal with low-bid projects
- Ability to present yourself in a professional manner
- Be involved in professional organizations
- Represent the company in a respectful manner
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members, clients and subcontractors
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, walk, and use stairs. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
