Job Description: Estimator - Metal Fabrication

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at our manufacturing facility located in Whitewater, WI, 53190. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in accurately assessing custom dolly and rack project costs and providing detailed estimates for our clients. Responsibilities

• Analyze project specifications and requirements to determine accurate cost estimates
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
• Prepare and submit detailed and competitive quotes to clients within specified deadlines
• Review and evaluate subcontractor proposals and negotiate pricing when necessary
• Conduct thorough research on materials, labor, tooling, and equipment costs to ensure accurate estimates
• Maintain a comprehensive database of historical cost data for future reference and analysis per established procedure.
• Provide support to project teams during the design and manufacturing phases.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations to enhance estimating accuracy
• Collaborate with the sales team to develop winning strategies and proposals for potential projects
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator applied in a metal fabrication environment
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication methods, materials, and costs
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
• Strong organizational and time management abilities

Salary info:
