We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Estimator to join our thriving construction team. This position will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of construction projects, primarily within the healthcare and hospital industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and competitive cost estimates that will contribute to the profitability and growth of our company. The role is a perfect fit for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing the project's plans and specifications and identifying factors affecting costs such as production time, materials, and labor.
2. Develop a thorough understanding of the project scope through drawings, specifications, and other documentation to create a comprehensive bill of quantities.
3. Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and suppliers to gather all necessary information to produce accurate estimates.
4. Use software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
5. Keep up-to-date with the latest construction methods, materials, and pricing trends.
6. Coordinate with project and construction managers to develop a project schedule and understand workforce requirements.
7. Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with defined scope of work.
8. Prepare and present cost reports and pricing summaries to management and clients.
9. Participate in proposal presentations and client meetings.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating.
2. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
3. Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office Suite.
4. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and mechanical systems.
5. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
6. Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
7. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
8. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.
9. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction industry is a plus.
10. Professional certification in estimating or a related field is preferred.
