Responsibilities
The basic responsibilities of the Low-Voltage/Technologies Estimator include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare detailed proposals and bid packages for clients, including product detail, timelines, and project specifications.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders in the industry to promote Low-Voltage/Technologies services.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site surveys, and walkthroughs to gain a complete understanding of client objectives and project scope.
- Read and interpret project documents, such as blueprints and specifications, to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with Engineers, Designers, and Project Managers to deliver a high-quality product to our customers.
- Ensure all estimates and proposals are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
- Communicate with Project Managers on RFP’s, scope, and coordination of sold work.
- Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote the company's services and products.
- Track sales activities and forecast sales opportunities in CRM.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2-year degree; Electrical Design or related technical degree is preferred.
- Previous experience estimating low-voltage systems based on local and state codes is preferred.
- Two to four years of, relevant experience (may include field experience) within Low-Voltage/Technologies industry is preferred.
- This position may require frequent travel to customer sites in and around the Rochester/Southern MN area. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of current estimating processes, procedures and codes in the low-voltage/technologies disciplines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-term relationships.
- Ability to read and interpret specs and blueprints.
- Ability to present to both internal and external groups.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills to handle competing customer needs and priorities.
- Proficient in the use of standard office equipment and computer programs such as Google Suite (G-Mail, Docs, Sheets, etc.).
Working Conditions
- Performance of duties will be in the office, at customer sites, and job sites as needed. This role will be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement after one year of employment, up to manager discretion.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements are to be expected on job sites.
- Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected on job sites.

Salary Range: $64,800-$81,000 (subject to such factors as experience, education, and/or skill set) plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
