We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Permanent Estimator to join our successful construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for calculating accurate project estimates, managing project costs, budgeting, contract management, and risk assessment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial feasibility of our construction projects and the satisfaction of our clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications, and identifying factors affecting costs.
2. Conduct a thorough risk assessment to ensure potential problems are foreseen and solutions are planned.
3. Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive prices.
4. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to prepare accurate material take-offs.
5. Manage the bidding process from preparing the project estimates to submitting the proposals to clients.
6. Perform value engineering to maximize the project’s profitability without compromising on quality.
7. Manage contracts, ensuring all parties adhere to the agreed terms and conditions.
8. Coordinate with project managers to develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6.
9. Ensure all construction activities comply with building codes and regulations.
10. Maintain quality control procedures and ensure they are implemented at all stages of the project.
11. Negotiate contract terms with clients and subcontractors to reach beneficial agreements.
12. Manage procurement processes, ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment.
13. Continuously monitor project costs and provide cost management solutions to keep the project within budget.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
2. Proficiency in project estimation, cost management, construction estimating, project bidding, budgeting, cost analysis, value engineering, project management, contract management, construction management, blueprint reading, negotiation, material take off (MTO), risk assessment, scheduling, procurement, Primavera P6, quality control, subcontracting, building codes, contract negotiation.
3. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
4. Strong communication and negotiation skills.
5. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction documents.
6. Proficient with construction management software like Primavera P6.
7. Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
8. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or a related field is preferred.
9. Professional certification in estimating or project management is a plus.
