As a Estimator, you will play a critical role in our company's millwork projects. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, which are essential for the successful completion of our projects. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent numerical skills, and a deep understanding of the millwork industry. You will work closely with our design and project management teams to ensure that our projects are completed on time and within budget. You will also be expected to contribute to the development of new strategies and methods for improving the efficiency and accuracy of our estimating processes.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for millwork projects or services as assigned, ensuring that all costs are accurately accounted for.
2. Use AutoCAD to create drafts and drawings that will aid in the estimation process.
3. Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
4. Conduct regular risk analysis and generate cost reports to keep the management team informed about the financial status of ongoing projects.
5. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand the scope of work and requirements for each project.
6. Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
7. Track and record all costs and expenses related to each project, and report any cost overruns to the management team immediately.
8. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in order to improve our estimating processes and techniques.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as an estimator in the field of millwork or equivalent is required.
2. Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software is preferred. Candidates with a basic drafting/drawing background will be given priority.
3. Strong understanding of millwork processes, materials, and costs is essential.
4. Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
5. Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
7. Proactive attitude and the ability to work independently, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required.
9. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
