We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Estimator to join our growing team in the IT services industry. This exciting role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of the estimation process for our construction projects. You will be responsible for evaluating project specifications, calculating costs, and preparing detailed estimates that align with our clients' budgets.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop comprehensive, detailed project estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and identifying factors affecting costs.
2. Conduct thorough project bidding to secure the most competitive prices from suppliers and subcontractors.
3. Perform cost analysis and set realistic timelines for project completion.
4. Utilize advanced blueprint reading skills to ensure accurate material take-off (MTO) and cost estimation.
5. Manage and coordinate subcontracting processes, ensuring the best quality and cost-efficiency.
6. Provide accurate estimates for structured cabling systems, audio, video, data, voice, and indoor/outdoor communication networks.
7. Estimate costs for low-voltage systems for security, access control, and surveillance.
8. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve any issues that may arise during the estimation process.
9. Regularly update cost databases and project management software with current and accurate information.
10. Present and explain project estimates to clients and stakeholders in a clear and understandable way.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required
2. A minimum of 2 years' experience as an Estimator
3. Proficiency in project bidding, cost analysis, blueprint reading, and material take-off (MTO).
4. Extensive experience in subcontracting and managing suppliers.
5. Proven experience estimating costs for structured cabling systems, audio, video, data, voice, and indoor/outdoor communication networks.
6. Experience estimating costs for low-voltage systems for security, access control, and surveillance.
7. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimation software.
10. Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
11. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
12. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
