The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial glass and glazing estimating, with a proven track record of success in the field.
Responsibilities:
As an Estimator - Glass & Glazing, you will be responsible for a broad range of tasks, including:
1. Preparing comprehensive cost estimates for glass and glazing elements in construction projects, from initial concept to final design.
2. Conducting detailed project takeoffs to determine materials, labor, and time requirements.
3. Using software tools such as PartnerPak, Bluebeam, and True Software to optimize estimating processes and improve accuracy.
4. Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
5. Coordinating with sales teams to develop competitive pricing strategies and bid proposals.
6. Evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure they meet project specifications and budget constraints.
7. Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and architects to resolve any issues that may arise during the estimating process.
8. Keeping abreast of industry trends and advancements in glass and glazing technologies.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial glass estimating and commercial glazing estimating.
2. Proficiency in estimating software such as PartnerPak, Bluebeam, and True Software.
3. Solid experience in project takeoffs, sales, estimating, and blueprint reading.
4. Exceptional numerical skills and attention to detail.
5. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
7. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
8. A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred but not required.
