Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Utilize Bluebeam, Procore, and other software for project estimation and construction estimating.
- Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
- Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
- Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
- Review preliminary takeoff and rescoping bids and prepare final budgets.
- Prepare reports and presentations to explain estimates and bids.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Construction Estimating, Project Estimation, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Procore, or equivalent software is essential.
- Experience in affordable housing, home building, and multifamily projects.
- Strong knowledge of Project Bidding, Cost Analysis, Blueprint Reading, Material Take Off (MTO), On-Screen Take Off, Preliminary takeoff, rescoping bids, and bid reviewal.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
