Turner Industries Group is looking to hire a CoatingEstimator for work in Geismar, LA. The Coatings Estimator is responsible for the preparation of cost estimates. Will be required to provide analysis of isometric/equipment/structural drawings, specifications, and other documentation to produce estimates for projects or services. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Estimating Manager.
Essential Qualifications:
- Technical training and/or industrial related estimating experience (5+ years)
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, along with a strong attention to detail
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office or equivalent
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team to complete estimates and proposals on multiple projects
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others at the workplace
Functional Requirements:
Work the entire life cycle of a bid, from invitation to proposal submission, along with post-submittal support/clarification when required, Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to a particular bid/project as assigned, Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate, Prepare estimates by performing quantity takeoffs from drawings or quantities provided in a bid package for the scope of work, Prepare bid packages for vendors and suppliers, Assist in schedule preparation and analysis, execution plan development, and risk analysis, Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimates, Ensure estimates are complete, well organized, and ready for management review, Assist the project team on awarded contracts as assigned - may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, etc.
Compensation
Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
