Savard is looking for a Senior estimators near Metairie, LA for job# 20384

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation:
Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
Utilize cost databases and software to gather historical data for more precise estimates.
Bid Preparation:
Prepare detailed proposals and bids for construction projects, including documentation for subcontractors and suppliers.
Collaborate with project managers and clients to clarify project requirements and identify potential cost savings.
Project Evaluation:
Conduct site visits and assessments to understand project scope and constraints.
Evaluate subcontractor bids and compare costs to ensure competitiveness.
Collaboration:
Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to align cost estimates with design and construction plans.
Communicate effectively with clients to discuss project specifications and adjust estimates as necessary.
Monitoring and Reporting:
Track project costs during the construction phase and compare them to the original estimates to identify potential variances.
Provide regular updates and reports on budgeting and cost control measures to management.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and construction techniques to improve estimating processes.
Attend relevant training and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge in construction estimating.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
Experience with different types of construction projects, such as commercial, residential, industrial, etc. Is a plus.
Commercial Experience

Skills:
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Proficient in construction estimating software (e.G., Bluebeam, Sage, etc.).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Pay Range: Salary up to $120K DOE
