The addition of the electrical estimator position is an integral part of our continued growth. Our company focuses on the retail/commercial segment of the industry, both new construction and remodels. Location:
This role will be in office in either of the following locations.
- Justin, TX
- Cumming, GA
Compensation: $100,000 - $135,000 yearly plus bonus potential
Responsibilities:
- Complete the estimated takeoff, using on-screen computer estimating, within time deadlines.
- Develop and maintain a positive relationship with vendors and customers
- Review and evaluate project plans and specifications, bid documents, and other relevant documents to identify what is needed to create a bid proposal.
- Time Management and Communication is a must in estimating. Fulfilling deadlines and able to communicate the information proposed to the customer.
- Continuously follow up on all bid projects and accurately forecast future awards/probabilities.
- Attend pre-bid or team scope review meetings and understand the complete scope of work required, with sometimes limited information.
- Notify and send bid information to subcontractors and vendors for quotations on outsourced work.
- Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Review vendors bill of materials and subcontractors scope letters for accuracy.
- Complete change order estimates for awarded projects.
- Work as a team with other estimators, company divisions, and departments within the company.
- Attend estimating/sales meetings to discuss bid status, and present/solve problems.
- Assist field operations with the estimate after bid award through project closeout.
- Prepare a proposal letter, meet proposal due date schedules.
- Analyze bids and propose value engineer cost saving ideas.
- Provide leadership, direction, train, and mentor Junior Estimators and work well with all team members.
- Properly transfer awarded projects to operations team and perform buyouts when necessary.

Position Requirements:
- At least 4 years of estimating commercial electrical projects in similar types of construction as our core work – commercial new construction and remodels
- Excellent communication skills with customers, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and owners
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness
- Full working knowledge and experience with ConEst IntellBid or similar estimating software.
- Thorough knowledge of the commercial electrical field and familiarity with materials and construction methods
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Programs (i.e., Excel, Word) and comfort with spreadsheets and computerized on-screen takeoff programs.
- Knowledgeable of the N.E.C and local code
- Produce accurate, timely, and competitive estimates with minimal data.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
