Estimator - Construction - redShift Recruiting

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Estimator to join our client's team located near Clifton Park, NY. This role involves analyzing project blueprints, estimating labor and material costs, and preparing competitive bids to assist in the successful execution of electrical projects. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in electrical systems, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of industry codes to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities of the Estimator will include:

• Analyze blueprints to determine wire lengths and suitable outlet placement based on electrical codes and project requirements.
• Calculate the amount, type, and cost of materials, fixtures, and labor required for electrical projects.
• Assess the potential profitability of projects to support management in making informed bidding decisions.
• Complete and submit competitive project bids in alignment with company guidelines.
• Identify and provide viable solutions to increase project profitability and efficiency.
• Regularly update cost databases to reflect fluctuations in material and labor costs.
• Determine whether it is more feasible to construct electrical components in-house or subcontract their construction.

Qualifications of the Estimator:

• Completion of a postsecondary electrician training program is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus.
• Certification through ASPE or AACE International is advantageous.
• Valid electrician's license is required.
• Strong ability to interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.

Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $85,000 - $125,000, DOE.
