Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the overall estimated cost of a project.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates by breaking down the items of work necessary to implement the project.
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop a project schedule and plan.
- Assist in value engineering by identifying potential cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, quality, and availability of materials.
- Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations.
- Negotiate and communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and partners to gather accurate estimates.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and technical developments that may impact cost estimating.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of financial reports and forecasts.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in civil construction estimating or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.
- Proficient in project management and estimating software.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
- Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to make sound decisions.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in the construction industry.
