Estimator - Erland Construction

Job Description

The Estimator will be tasked with providing accurate cost estimates for construction projects from conceptual stages to final design. This role involves collaborating with internal teams, external clients, architects, and engineers to review and assess project information. The ideal candidate should have experience in estimating for projects in Multifamily, Commercial, Academic, and Life Science sectors.

Specific Duties:                                    

• Analyze all project documentation to develop a clear and detailed understanding of project scope

• Prepare quantity takeoffs to establish baseline pricing and scopes of work across all divisions

• Utilize historical data, construction knowledge, and industry benchmarks to develop estimates

• Review trade proposals for inconsistencies and ensure all project requirements are fulfilled

• Prepare qualifications and assumptions for final estimate submission

• Assists in the preparation of conceptual estimates alongside senior staff

• Attend site visits to evaluate existing project conditions and cost impacts 

• Assist in maintaining subcontractor database 

• Develop subcontractor bid lists including Instruction to Bidders 

• Manage the distribution of project documentation, addenda, and RFI’s

• Maintain and ensure adequate subcontractor coverage throughout the bidding process

• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and strategies through value management

• Assist in business development initiatives, including interviews and client presentations

• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, and suppliers
